ClassMenu Error Fix ------------------- https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?p_faqid=131 Numerous error logs ("ErrorLog#####.txt") located in the following folders: "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\USER_NAME\Condition Zero\ErrorLogs" "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\USER_NAME\Condition Zero Deleted Scenes\ErrorLogs" "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\USER_NAME\Counter-Strike\ErrorLogs" "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\USER_NAME\Day of Defeat\ErrorLogs" contain the message "Failed to load dialog file Resource/UI/ClassMenu.res". If you look in your error logs, you'll see the following error messages: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Error:Failed to load dialog file Resource/UI/ClassMenu.res Function trace: CGameUI::Start CGameUI::Initialize CBaseUI::Start CBaseUI::Initialize Host_Init CFileSystem_Steam::Mount() -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- This is NOT an indication of a real error and it happens regardless if you have a problem running the game or not. Only "Team Fortress" actually includes and uses this file, and no other game needs it. But for some reason, when you run some (but not all) of the Half-Life Gold Source based Steam games, they will go looking for this file (and will create this message in the error logs if they can't find it). You can very easily prevent the error message from being created by placing a dummy "ClassMenu.res" file in the following folders (wherever you installed your games, is your Steam account name): "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\USER_NAME\Condition Zero\CZero\Resource\UI\ClassMenu.res" "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\USER_NAME\Condition Zero Deleted Scenes\CZeroR\Resource\UI\ClassMenu.res" "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\USER_NAME\Counter-Strike\CStrike\Resource\UI\ClassMenu.res" "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\USER_NAME\Day of Defeat\DoD\Resource\UI\ClassMenu.res" The dummy "ClassMenu.res" file can be downloaded from https://support.steampowered.com/downloads/5167-RTUV-5333/ClassMenu.res. Note: You might have your Steam Client and Steam games installed somewhere else, so please adjust the above paths to match your installation. If you don't have those folders there, then create them. These games are the only ones that seem to generate these warning messages, so you shouldn't need to do this for any other Steam games. Also, if you are having trouble running any of these games, doing this probably won't help you fix your problem (but it won't hurt either).
