"Simville" Scenery for ATP/AS/AS2 --------------------------------- The files in this archive are a scenery conversion (using the utility "ASD2ATP") of an old project of mine for Microsoft Flight Simulator 4.0b. The project (GMH911UG.ZIP) consisted of a major upgrade to the original "Simville" scenery that was included with "Rescue Air 911" (a retail flight adventure game for Microsoft Flight Simulator 4.0b and the Aircraft and Adventure Factory), and was created and edited using the Aircaft and Scenery Designer. Note that many of the original Scenery Enhancement Editor "SEE4" objects were not converted properly when using the ASD2ATP conversion utility (as well as an obscure glitch here and there), but the scenery is still quite aesthetically pleasing and is still enjoyable to fly in Airline Transport Pilot, Airline Simulator, or Airline Simulator 2 -:) To install the new scenery, simply unzip the files "SIMVILLE.SCN", "SIMVILLE.SP1", "SIMVILLE.SP2", and "SIMVILLE.SP3" to your simulator's "SCENERY" subdirectory on your hard drive (i.e. "C:\ATP\SCENERY", "C:\AS\SCENERY", "C:\AS2\SCENERY", etc...). Included in this archive are the files "SIMVILLE.SMS" and "SIMVILLE.IN". These files are for use with subLogic's "Scenery Management System" (the successor to the "New Facilities Locator") that ships with Lago's "Airline Simulator" and NomisSoft's "Airline Simulator 2", as well as subLOGIC's "Flight Assignment: Airline Transport Pilot" (Rev. E CDROM), and their "USA East" and "USA West" scenery packs. If you have the Scenery Management System installed on your hard drive, copy these files to your simulator's "\SMS" subdirectory. If you have the New Facilities Locator installed, first rename the file "SIMVILLE.SMS" to the new filename "SIMVILLE.NFL", and then copy it to your simulator's "\NFL" subdirectory. The "SIMVILLE.IN" file (which has been renamed to "SIMVILLE.IN" from the original filename "MINE.IN") is the file that the New Facilities Locator and the Scenery Management System generates when you select "Define your own location" from the NFL/SMS menu from within your simulator. Usually you would then run the utility "GENMINE.EXE" which would read the file "MINE.IN" and generate the "MINE.NFL" or "MINE.SMS" databases. It is included in this archive so that you can add more locations to it, or edit the existing ones. Listed below are the various preset locations included in the "SIMVILLE.SMS" database file: Downtown Simville Greene Memorial Hospital - VOR and localizer available, ILS runway 9: 109.00.
