BGB/KiGB GameBoy Emulator Floating Skins v1.0 ============================================= ©Copyright 2006, Rich „Weeds„ Nagel - All rights reserved Overview -------- The BGB/KiGB GameBoy Emulator Floating Skins are a picture of a Nintendo GameBoy DMG-01 that is displayed in the foreground of your Windows desktop for use while playing Bas Steendijk's "BGB" or Ricky Liu and Scott Nash's "KiGB" GameBoy emulators. Find out more about these great freeware GameBoy emulators at http://bgb.bircd.org and http://kigb.emuunlim.com on the Internet! The skins are designed to be placed in front of the BGB or the KiGB GameBoy emulator while it is running (in any one of the three windowed screen sizes supported by the emulator), and have a small transparent area over the actual LCD gameplay screen (covering and hiding the emulator window's titlebar and border). When running the emulator in conjunction with the skins, it looks just like your playing a real Nintendo GameBoy! Installation ------------ To install the BGB/KiGB GameBoy Emulator Floating Skins, unzip BGB_KiGB_GameBoy_Emulator_Floating_Skins.zip to the same directory where the BGB or the KiGB GameBoy emulator is installed on your hard drive. To upgrade the BGB/KiGB GameBoy Emulator Floating Skins from any previous versions, simply overwrite the existing files. Skin Sizes ---------- Included are three sizes of the BGB/KiGB GameBoy Emulator Floating Skins (use the appropriate version for the BGB or the KiGB windowed screen size that you are running): "Nintendo GameBoy DMG-01 1.exe" - Use for BGB/KiGB's "1x1" Screen Size, 160x144 LCD gameplay screen. "Nintendo GameBoy DMG-01 2.exe" - Use for BGB/KiGB's "2x2" Screen Size, 320x288 LCD gameplay screen. "Nintendo GameBoy DMG-01 3.exe" - Use for BGB/KiGB's "3x3" Screen Size, 480x432 LCD gameplay screen. Usage ----- Run the appropriate skin as listed above (you may wish to create shortcuts in your Windows Start Menu, or on your Windows desktop for the three skins). After running the appropriate skin, start the BGB or the KiGB GameBoy emulator by clicking the GameBoy "On" button at the top of the skin. Note that the GameBoy "Off" button at the top of the skin exits the skin program (or simply press the ESCAPE key on your keyboard to exit the skin program), it does NOT exit the actual BGB or the KiGB GameBoy emulator. Also note that you can click on the top-left portion of the skin (the top-left corner of the GameBoy) at anytime to minimze the skin to the Windows system tray (to the left of the clock in your Windows taskbar). After running the appropriate skin and the BGB or the KiGB GameBoy emulator, ensure that the emulator's internal "Border" feature is disabled. Then simply slide and position BGB's or KiGB's emulator window so that it's LCD gameplay screen is aligned directly beneath the running skin. The skin is configured to stay on top of any other running application, so it will always be in the foreground of your Windows desktop. To make things easier when running any of the skins with the KiGB GameBoy emulator, disable KiGB's "Per Game Config" option, and enable KiGB's "Win32 Open File" feature. This makes it a bit easier to load your game cartridge ROM files, and also prevents the KiGB GameBoy emulator from resizing it's LCD gameplay screen window when loading them in. Click on the top-right portion of the skin (the top-right corner of the GameBoy) to display the copyright and version information for the BGB/KiGB GameBoy Emulator Floating Skins. Programs and Utilities ---------------------- The BGB/KiGB GameBoy Emulator Floating Skins were created exclusively using NeoSoft's NeoBook for Windows v4.1.3a, and using Jasc Software's Paint Shop Pro v7.02 and NeoSoft's NeoPaint for Windows v4.5a for image editing.
