A Tribute to "Lars"

This MIDI and MP3 file ("Lars.mid" and "Lars.mp3") is a remix of an extremely old Amiga 4-channel Noisetracker song entitled "Lars". Originally composed in 1988 (original author unknown), this funky sounding song was included with Bram Graveland's old Tracker music composing program "Tetra Compositor" version 1.0 ("Lars.nst"), circa 1990-1991.

The non-interactive demo version of Tetra Compositor was included with the original Sound Blaster 1.0 (as well as it's successor, the Sound Blaster 2.0), while the full version of the program was sold as a retail product by Creative Labs (suggested retail price: US $100).

The retail version of the program even included a seperate executable that would run on an "XT" class PC ("Tetra_XT.exe"), and I couldn't count how many times years ago that I watched in awe and listened to the Tetra Compositor demo running on my ancient 80-286 machine, as well as several years later on my old 486DX4-100 -:)

Anyhow, I have sequenced a remix of the original song to a MIDI file, and also recorded an MP3 using my MIDI hardware for your listening pleasure. Note that the MP3 version is mixed with the two voice samples that were contained in the original Amiga 4-channel Noisetracker song ("Lars.nst"), "Wap bam boogie!" and "Pump up the volume!". Also included is a screenshot of the original retail version of Tetra Compositor ("LarsTRet.gif"), as well as the original Amiga 4-channel Noisetracker song ("Lars.mod").
