Red Rock International Raceway Drivethrough =========================================== (C)Copyright 2006, Rich „Weeds„ Nagel - All rights reserved A Rollercoaster of a Ride! -------------------------- The file contained in this archive is a self-playing Smacker format movie of an in-car view guiding you through one lap at "Red Rock International Raceway". The movie includes a few excellent sounding CD quality stereo sound effects taken directly from my "GeneRally Sound Pack Pro 6 v1.0b", as well as several sound effects borrowed directly from Papyrus' NASCAR Racing 3. I was always fascinated by Papyrus' original "Red Rock International Raceway" simply because of how much of a blast that it was to race on. For anyone who may remember the original NASCAR Racing 2 track, this 2.6 mile four-turn so-called "road course" was a real rollercoaster of a driving experience! Released as a freeware fictional fantasy track download on the Internet in August of 1997 (along with "Bull Run Raceway", another fictional fantasy track), the final version was included with the "Busch Grand National Series Expansion Pack" for the old NASCAR Racing 2 in November of 1997. The track was wildly popular on Papyrus' long-since gone non-Internet online racing service "NROS"... Lord only knows how much money I wasted away in long distance telephone charges racing on NROS years ago ! Throughout the years this track has been updated and converted for use with Papyrus' "Grand Prix Legends", "NASCAR Legends", "NASCAR Racing 3", as well as "NASCAR Racing 4" and newer. The online NASCAR league that I used to race with years ago ("Saturday Night Online Racers" - S.N.O.R.) even used the NASCAR Racing 3 version for several of our seasons' races. The original NASCAR Racing 2 freeware release of this track (as well as "Bull Run Raceway") used to be available for download from Sierra's FTP site at ftp://ftp.sierra.com/pub/goodies/pc/tracks.zip on the Internet, but has long-since disappeared from their server. Today luckily, there are still a few sites on the Internet where you can download the track from -:) Surf over to http://www.3dgamers.com/games/nascarracing2/downloads or http://www.simcyberworld.com/tep on the Internet to download the original freeware ficional fantasy track pack for NASCAR Racing 2, or to http://www.cmoo.com/~snor/downloads/redrock.zip and http://www.cmoo.com/~snor/downloads/bullrun.zip for versions that you can use in NASCAR Racing 3. Viewing the Movie ----------------- To view the movie, simply unzip RRIRDRIV.ZIP to any directory on your hard drive and then run "Red Rock International Raceway Drivethrough.exe". The movie will run on any PC under Windows 9.x or higher. Sit back and watch a complete lap around Red Rock International Raceway. Strap yourself in, fasten your seat belt, and grab your barf bag...
