GeneRally Driver Color Randomizer v1.2 ====================================== (C)Copyright 2003-2004, Rich „Weeds„ Nagel - All rights reserved What is this "Driver Color Randomizer" thing anyways? ----------------------------------------------------- The GeneRally Driver Color Randomizer is a utility that will generate and randomize the colors of any GeneRally driver file. The utility can generate the random colors using five different methods, "All Random Colors", "Brighter Random Colors", "Darker Random Colors", "Brighter Primary and Darker Secondary Random Colors", or "Brighter Secondary and Darker Primary Random Colors". Yeah, I know it's a relatively useless little utility, but it's fun to play around with nevertheless ! Installation ------------ To install the GeneRally Driver Color Randomizer, simply unzip COLRND12.ZIP to your "GeneRally\Drivers" subdirectory on your hard drive. To upgrade an existing installation of this utility from a previous version, simply overwrite the existing files. Using the Driver Color Randomizer --------------------------------- After running the GeneRally Driver Color Randomizer, enter the filename of the driver that you wish to generate colors for (including the ".DRV" extension). Note that because the GeneRally Driver Color Randomizer was written in Quick Basic v4.5, the utility can only understand short filenames (i.e. 8 character filename, plus 3 character extension). You can also type "COLORAND " (minus the quotes) from a fullscreen MS-DOS shell command prompt, substituting "" with the filename of the GeneRally driver file (again, using only the 8 character filename, plus 3 character ".DRV" extension), and press ENTER. Alternatively you can use Windows "My Computer" or the Windows Explorer to drag and drop a driver file onto the COLORAND.EXE executable file, which will automatically load the driver file into the utility. After loading in a driver file, press the corresponding hotkey of the random color generation method that you wish to use (the menus are self-explanatory). The utility will then completely randomize all of the colors in the GeneRally driver file, and then display the resulting new primary color and secondary color RGB color codes. The utility can be partially automated by creating a simple batch file with the short filenames of the driver files that you wish to change. An example batch file that would change several different driver files simultaneously would be: --- cut here --- @ECHO OFF COLORAND DRIVER01.DRV COLORAND DRIVER02.DRV COLORAND DRIVER03.DRV COLORAND DRIVER04.DRV COLORAND DRIVER05.DRV COLORAND DRIVER06.DRV --- cut here --- Legalities ---------- The GeneRally Driver Color Randomizer (COLRND12.ZIP) may be freely distributed in it's unmodified and unedited form, and in it's original unmodified and unedited ZIP format archive for any non-commercial use. Use the GeneRally Driver Color Randomizer at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for deleted driver files, corrupted driver files, crashed cars, crashed windows (automotive or Microsoft), disgusting blinding color schemes, and the like .
