Starcraft/BroodWar all-version no-cd BattleNET loader by XeNotRoN® Supports dual full installs - full Original Starcraft and full BroodWar at the same time on your HDD. WORKS WITH ALL VERSIONS OF ORIGINAL SC AND BW!!! Tested with all original starcraft and broodwar versions up to v1.13f under win95, win98, winNT4, winXP It should work with all future versions too. - You must have Original Starcraft or BroodWar installed. If you don't have a cd-key to install starcraft, use this: 3333-33333-3333 - Patch up your starcraft or broodwar to any version. 1. Extract scloader.exe from this zip to your starcraft install dir. 2. Copy install.exe found on your starcraft cd to your starcraft install dir. 3. Create a subfolder called "BW" in your starcraft install dir. Copy install.exe found on your broodwar cd to this "BW" directory. - You can use ripped install.exe files too to reduce game size. - Now start starcraft with scloader.exe and have fun! :] You don't need the CDs and can play on BattleNET too if you installed Starcraft using a valid BattleNet cd-key. - This starcraft can be copied to another computer without exporting registry settings. (this can be useful on LAN parties...) - Where does starcraft search for the install.exe file(s) using this loader when you start the game or change form original starcraft to broodwar or vice versa in the main menu??? 1. If The [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Starcraft]\StarCD registry key exists it will probably store the full path of a directory (by default the root directory of a CD-ROM drive). Starcraft try to load install.exe from here. If no suitable install.exe found then... 2. Starcraft tries to load install.exe from the root directories of your CD-ROM drives. 3. If install.exe is not found yet, Starcraft tries to load it from your starcraft installation directory (where starcraft.exe is located) and from a subdir called "BW" located in your installation directory. Notice: 1. If you use ripped install.exe files, for example u don't have the campaigns in it, but u wanna play with full starcraft do this: Insert a CD containing another install.exe file before u start starcraft, then this file will be loaded instead of the ripped, cause starcraft searches the cd-rom drives before the installdir and installdir\bw subfolders. 2. BroodWar versions earlier than v1.08 have some problems with dual full install: when you change form original starcraft to broodwar or vice versa in the main menu, a popup window appears asking u for the CD. If u have the corresponding install.exe file in your sc installdir or u have inserted the CD press ENTER or click Okay. If you have problems with the loader feel free to mail me. (send some details on the error) Have a nice day! ^^ XeN - 2006 Hungary mail: xenomails@freemail.hu -- or -- xenotron@cracker.hu
